While we were there, Birdy had a birthday! A big one! She turned 8!! Yay Syd! Eight is great! Oh and Oaks is still 4, just a friendly reminder!
The ferry was a short ride, and it was a nice boat.
We saw some cool cargo ships along the way.
Moreton is known for it's awesome snorkeling. Look how clear that water is!!! Here's Oaks and Park snorkeling on the beach. There were even fish swimming around us at this shallow depth. It was crazy!
Doing some exploring and of course, beach diggin.
The first night we camped right at the shipwreck beach. The site was called The Wrecks and it was really cool to be that close to our snorkeling spot. But it was a little crowded with the holiday weekend and all. The second night we slipped over to the other side of the island and camped on unplanned campground. It was Southwest beach. It was awesome. So vast and beautiful. The waves were great and we had plenty of space to spread out.
Sunset on this side was breathtaking.
Throwing the footie on the beach.
Boogie boarding, of course.
Easter is a fall holiday here so when the sun goes down, it cools off. Oaks wrapped up and stayed warm while watching the kiddos boogie boarding til dark!
Hottie!
We only took one car on the island since it required 4 wheel drive. The Pajero didn't let us down! Even this packed!!! 10 people, and camping equipment for 2 families, including all beach gear. Yah...it was a tight fit. This is where Sydney rode while we headed back to board the ferry! About a 15 minute drive!!!
Packin it in!
This was our awesome campsite. Just look at that beach! Amazing. My seat in the Pajero was just under Oaks! Parker took the console. Nice and tight. Lots of love in that car!
We had such a blast on this weekend trip! The snorkeling was absolutely amazing! Unforgettable really. We even saw a shark. it was a Weobegone shark (a bottom feeder) but it was probably 4 or 5 feet long. We saw 2 of them. It was pretty crazy. We saw angel fish, heaps of clown fish and every color of fish you can think of. Awesome!
Heading home I turned around to find this beauty in the back seat. She kills me!
I just realized some of these pix are repeats from my post about Pam's professional pix. Sorry to repeat. But I can't bring myself to take them off! They are so good! We'll enjoy them twice!
