Sweet, Sweet Valentines!

When we were a family of 4...before our sweet Oakers came along, I had a secret dominion within our family.  I had pure, unadulterated control over the dessert department in our lives.  Sure, all of us love a good sweetsy every now and again, but if ever served a chocolate delicacy I was the clear victor and family solution!  Everyone could only handle chocolate in small doses, so I never had to battle for licking brownie bowls, the last of the Oreos or who would eat the double dark chocolate mousse so that we didn't appear ungrateful as guests at a party, reception or fancy place. (dark chocolate was especially easy to call "dibs" on).  Mom was there to save the day and finish off the mousse for everyone! Until the 5th!  And she has given me a run for my money!

For Valentine's the boys took us girls out for a special treat.  We went to Southbank, one of our favorite places to play in Brisby.  We went to Max Brennan's Chococlate Factory!  It was awesome.  We ordered strawberries with chocolate pots to dip in.  Waffles with chocolate syrup, and different kinds of danishes dusted in cocoa!  It was awesome.
My boys are so thoughtful of us on Valentine's Day.  The girls got kangaroo bracelets and I got my favorite souvenir so far.  A beautiful opal necklace.  Opals are so Aussie.  We bought it from a dealer on the Sunshine Coast and I'm in love with it!  Love that husband of mine!

This girl just tipped the pots up after the strawberries were gone and drank the beautiful elixir.  There is something especially good about Australian chocolate.  So stinkin smoothe and delish! It wouldn't do to waste it in those pots.  I was proud to see her being so resourceful! Part of me is sad to relinquish my complete dominance, but the other part is proud to have such a worthy partner in chocolatiering! She's never met a dessert she doesn't like, and to be honest...she can drink me under the table when it comes to holding her own with the chocolate scene!  I love this sweet tooth to pieces!
